Matthew Simmers, VP of Reinsurance Operations, SunGard iWorks
Matthew Simmers is an accomplished executive in the insurance arena with more than 15 years of Business and IT experience in the reinsurance industry. In his role at SunGard iWORKS, Matthew has overall responsibility for product strategy, development, deployment and support for the global reinsurance solutions. Matthew is focused on bringing the benefits of IT to solve complex business issues while managing costs and risks and maintaining a high-degree of customer satisfaction.
Prior to joining SunGard, Matthew held various positions within the reinsurance claims, accounting and IT areas at insurance carriers including Continental Insurance Companies and CNA Insurance Companies. Early in Matthew’s professional career at CNA, he was an integral member of the product design team for what is now the iWORKS reinsurance solution.
Karlyn Carnahan
, Principle Analyst, Novarica
Karlyn Carnahan, CPCU, is a principal in Novarica's insurance practice, focused on e-business, marketing, and IT planning. Karlyn recently served as Vice President of Marketing for Fireman's Fund commercial lines division, where she successfully launched several programs, expanded online customer self-service capabilities, and took a leading position in formulating IT strategy. She also served as Global Industry Manager for Sun Microsystems, and Senior Vice President of Product Development for InsWeb. Earlier in her career, she held a variety of marketing and underwriting positions at NORCAL Mutual and Fireman's Fund. She holds an MBA from Stanford Business School, and a Certified Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation.
